Design - Hints at creationism Defense of creationism is no small task, as it demands sharp scientific and Biblical understanding. Many Christians naively enter this debate and either make a fool of themselves or shatter their faith. Here's an article that got me thinking of how we need to get into the battle (American Scientist Article - December 2005). I see ID as a less theological attempt to get into the arena of scientific discussion. It may be too late for any argument based on the facts from either side, as our postmodern society and generally poor science education find most students yawning or ignorantly considering them all valid opinions based on ones emotions at the time. ID/Creationism links: Discovery Institute - http://www.discovery.org/ Growing Christians - Site founded by former Emmaus Teacher Dave Reid - http://www.growingchristians.org/cfgc/index.html. See his 'evidences' pages and recommended links. Science and Theology News - http://www.stnews.org - read about the ongoing debate. Creationists are often marginalized, but this is often their own fault. You have to know your science if you are going to engage these folks without looking like a fool! You can always learn more with a simple web search on those keywords. Things you need to have a good handle on: irreducible complexity - how do you defend it? What seems incredible to one person is believable to another. What would you say to this question: "If life on Earth is being consciously designed, then what are we to make of the mind that would bring into being the new strain of avian flu virus rampaging through Southeast Asia?" Regarding ID's 'intrusion' into scientific debate: Matt Donnelly writes "Theology continually intrudes, and it is a realm in which many scientists feel distinctly uncomfortable." 10/3/2005 http://www.stnews.org/Commentary-1666.htm |

| Links My Ringtone Oh, come to the Savior, His arms are extended, Oh, come to the Savior so loving and true; Behold, He is calling in tender compassion, O brother, the Savior is calling for you. Refrain Calling for you, calling for you, Brother, the Savior is calling for you, Calling, calling, Brother, the Savior is calling for you. Oh, come to the Savior, for why will you wander? This world and its pleasures no longer pursue; Again He is calling: how can you reject Him? O brother, the Savior is calling for you. Refrain Away to the fountain, the life giving fountain, Its soul cheering waters your strength will renew; Then come while the day beams of mercy are shining, O brother, the Savior is calling for you. Refrain Away, for the shadows of night are approaching, Then lose not His blessings that fall like the dew; Still, still He is waiting and tenderly calling, O brother, the Savior is calling for you. Bible - Online Bible - free standard package, with tons of free downloads of references, languages, maps, commentaries, and study guides Bible - ESword - e-Sword is a fast and effective way to study the Bible Bible - Libronix - electronic book reader used for Logos Bible software and many other e-books Firefox - lighter than Mozilla (no composer) - you can also install this as long as you install to a folder in which you have write permission. More secure than IE.
